Touch Up Paint Tips

Saving the paint jobs of vehicles: touch up paint simplified. When scratches inevitably happen, it’s very important to deal with them right away. Not unlike failing to disinfect an injury, they can become far worse given enough time, resulting in paint peeling, rust, you name it. Sadly, a lot of people neglect to repair scratches, thinking that they are very difficult to do something about. Truth is, touch up paint is very easy to apply. Here’s what you do:

First: you need to clean the scratch out, removing any debris. This can be done with warm water and soap. Next, you will need to smooth the area out with sandpaper. If it’s a shallow scratch, 220 grit paper will do. If it’s deep, you’ll need to use 600 grit sandpaper, and apply some primer, which will also need to smooth out with that 220 grit paper. Now, you’re ready to add the paint. It’s as simple as using something like a toothpick, or a matchstick to apply it. Once it dries, you’re done, it’s all there is to it.
