It's hard to believe, but the first half of 2012 is over. And the team here at Turner Kia could not be more excited about the second half of the year - especially considering how well Kia did over the last six months. That is to say, between April and the end of June, Kia dealerships around the country sold more than 150,000 units - making the first half of this sales year the best they've ever had.

Not to mention, June set a new sales record, with 51,326 units sold, a 13.9 percent increase over June of last year. June also marks the 22^nd straight month of sales growth. Yup, that's nearly two years of consistent sales increases.

How are they doing this? Well, for one, it seems that drivers are really loving American-built models like the Kia Optima and Sorento. It helps that the lineup is so fuel-efficient, too - 78 percent of June sales were models that get 30 mpg or more.

By the numbers:

-2012 Kia Optima: 13,393 units, 88.7 percent increase
-2012 Kia Sorento: 10,826 units, 8.1 percent increase
-Kia Rio5: 3,669 units, 87.7 percent increase

Shoppers were also impressed by the Kia Forte, snatching up 7,461 units in June; the Sportage with 3,950 units; and the Soul with 10,199 units in June.
