Oh how time flies. It's hard to imagine that Kia just released their fourth-generation Rio at the 2011 International Geneva Motor Show. It feels like yesterday when the first generation Rio was released but by the looks of the new Rio it seems more like a decade.

"This new car is no evolution of its predecessor, it is a revolution," said Kia in a recent press release. "The bold distinctive personality of the new Rio represents a complete departure from its predecessor and fits perfectly into the revitalized new family of Kia products."¹

Who do people turn to year after year for car information they can trust? None other than Consumer Reports.  The editors have recently chosen six new models for their Top Picks list for 2011. And, the new Kia Sorrento has landed a place at the top within the Family SUV category.

This is quite the accomplishment for Kia. For Kia, to place in Consumer Reports prestigious ranking, they had to push their way past market leviathans GM and Toyota. Along with 270 other vehicles, the Kia Sorrento was assessed in three key areas: road test, reliability, and safety.
