If you drive a new Kia Soul, you've probably enjoyed a long road trip or two in it, right? A whole day on the road in the Soul isn't so bad, with all of the entertainment features and comfy amenities. But can you imagine living in it for three entire weeks? Sounds crazy, we know, but last month in Ohio, three women did just that.
That's right, the three of them slept, ate and lived in a 2012 Kia Soul for three weeks for a chance at winning it. The contest took place at the Halleen Kia Dealership in North Olmsted, Ohio, but nobody expected it would last as long as it did. The three women who participated in the contest were allowed one five-minute bathroom break every hour, as well as a fifteen-minute break every six hours. They passed the time by playing pranks on the Halleen staff and bonding with each other. All of them missed their families, their beds and their showers.
But, at the end of the three weeks, each lady picked a number that corresponded to a briefcase. The winning case held the key to the Soul, and the other two cases contained $2,500 for the other ladies who endured living inside a car for three weeks. Though the Kia dealer didn't expect the contest to create as much buzz as it did, it was such a success, they're talking about running a similar contest next year.
Rachel Cothey, the lucky winner, happily drove home in the Kia Soul. The vehicle, which debuted in 2009, has enjoyed increased popularity every day, with over 85,000 units sold in the last two years. Owners are impressed by its unique styling, robust sound systems, impressive handling, class-leading mileage and Kia's extended warranty.
The women who won the money said that it will definitely help with their holiday shopping - and what a gift for Rachel's family, a brand new car! We here at Turner Kia won't ask you to live in any of the new Kia models in our showroom, but we're also certain you won't need three weeks with any of them to fall in love. Stop into our showroom at 4201 Chambers Hill Rd Harrisburg, PA 1711 and take one for a spin!
